Climate and Resources

We have set targets to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2) compared to a defined baseline year. We track our progress regularly and report on achievements against these targets.

We monitor our greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and based on this framework, we set emissions reduction targets. To support these targets, we have implemented a range of measures, including:

  • Transitioning, at our Swiss sites, from conventional electricity supply to electricity sourced from renewable energy through supplier contracts and energy certificates.
  • Replacing part of our company vehicle fleet with electric or hybrid vehicles, particularly within our sales organisations.
  • Improving energy efficiency in our production facilities through measures such as enhanced thermal insulation, upgrading equipment with more efficient ones, and optimising air conditioning and heating parameters.

Climate contribution: In addition to our internal reduction efforts, UNITED MACHINING has supported climate protection projects in Switzerland on a voluntary basis. These contributions are complementary and do not substitute for emission reductions within our own operations.
