UNITED MACHINING works to improve the energy efficiency of its machines, for example by optimising energy consumption during operation and standby modes. These improvements are designed to support customers in reducing energy consumption during use.
Since 2020, improvements in machine design and components have led to reductions in energy consumption under defined operating conditions. For certain machine configurations, energy consumption has been measured to be up to 43% lower compared to earlier generations, based on internal testing.
These improvements are supported by several developments, including:
- The Econowatt system, which is designed to reduce energy consumption when machines are in standby mode while maintaining operational readiness and required precision.
- The integration of energy-efficient injection pumps to optimise energy use during operation.
- The use of intelligent power generators to improve control of electrical discharge processes and enhance energy efficiency.
These developments are intended to support lower energy consumption during machine use. The extent of any resulting reductions in energy costs and associated greenhouse gas emissions depends on operating conditions and the energy mix used.
Emissions associated with the use of our products are considered part of our Scope 3 emissions under the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
